On Christmas Day, 2020, a bomb tore through a section of historic downtown Nashville. This bomb left in its wake untold destruction to historically and architecturally significant buildings that make up the identity of a part of the downtown core.

​Together, The District, Inc and Metro Historical Commission Foundation created a fund to help restore the vitally important historic district of 2nd avenue. The funds have supported structural assessments of and facade repairs to the irreplaceable historic buildings impacted by the explosion.
